It was a rather sudden but interesting start to travel somewhere far from Korea with my group mates. We were lucky to have a chance to know more about each other by sharing great time in Switzerland. Therefore, I was a bit nervous but very excited about the trip.
We had a long flight for 14 hours from Incheon to Zurich transferring the flight at Paris. At 8 p.m., we arrived at the Zurich airport, and luckily it was not dark outside. After 30 minute long complaints of Yongmin wanting to go to a bar, we were able to go to bed.
On the first morning at 6 a.m. in Switzerland, four alarms tried to wake me up, but I was suffering from the time difference. Thanks for Eunjee, four of us started out first journey at 9 a.m. Firstly, we visited Swiss National Museum. I was half awake and half sleepy there, so nothing attracted me. What I remember there was Suming's face fascinated by a golden pendent.
Then, we went to Kunsthaus Zurich as I had insisted to go there. It is the biggest art gallery in Switzerland. I am a layperson about art works, but I am interested in impressionism. Fortunately, the gallery exhibited paintings of Cezanne, Monet, Manet, and even Picasso. I thought I could spend more time there just feeling the works. Sadly, we didn't have enough time to stay at the gallery for a whole day and I was starved to death after a hard, work appreciating artworks.
A restaurant we had lunch was 'Kronehalle' whose symbol was crown. The name sounded something royal and high quality. It was true, and I could tell when I saw Yongmin's extremely satisfied face.
With a power from delicious dishes, we had a chocolate tour. How lovely it is! Chocolate of Switzerland! A chocolate factory named Lindt&Sprungli provided us some samples of chocolate. The sweet and joyful atmosphere made us happy and willing to buy. It was no wonder that we bought lots of chocolates.
After a long and interesting shopping at Bahnjofstrasse because of shopaholic Yongmin, we went back to a hotel to take some rest. Of course, Suming was also proud of her souvenirs such as watch and Swiss army knife. Since it was still bright outside, we had a night tour on the Lake Zurich on a boat. It was a romantic night except for Yongmin's unexpected but funny gay bar story.
